Iliana is bred for sport, boasting many successful ancestors in a variety of disciplines. She is linebred to the immortal stallions Pregel and Maharadscha, and is also a descendant of Magnet and Donauwind. Her sire is Egmont, a successful, imported dressage horse. Egmont’s sire line (Falke/Grimsel/Kassio/Abglanz) has produced many Grand Prix champions in both dressage and show jumping.
Her damsire is Amiego, who won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games and who was brother to the legendary Abdullah, an Olympic gold medalist over fences.
This typey mare is blessed with a smooth, floating trot and a great canter. She is a blast to ride and beautiful to watch. She typically produces refined, eye-catching foals.

Lucy gets another year off in 2009.
Meet Lucy, a big, elegant daughter of California Derby winner Unconscious. She’s a powerful mover with a huge, elastic trot which she always bequeaths to her offspring. Lucy has plenty of bone, a great neck, and a gorgeous face. At twenty years old, she’s not quite the girl she used to be, but she still managed to draw plenty of admiring comments at her 2006 ISR/Oldenburg inspection.
   
Lucy carries the blood of horses renowned for their toughness and athletic ability. Spy Song, Tenerani, and Mahmoud all appear in the first four generations of her pedigree.
Many of her ancestors descend from the Darley Arabian line of jumper sires. This is not a mare who suffers fools gladly. She is affectionate, however, and an extremely smart and levelheaded individual. Once you have her heart—once you connect with her—you have the best of many worlds, for she is a strong, athletic, extremely loyal partner.

Egmont x Steppin Out (Karneval II)

03/2009: We profoundly miss this brave and dignified mare, who gave us so much; she did her job better than anyone could have asked her to.
Salut is also a daughter of Egmont. Egmont was a successful, imported dressage horse, and his sire line (Falke/Grimsel/Kassio/Abglanz) has produced many Grand Prix champions in both dressage and show jumping.
Salut is linebred to Magnet (known for producing amazing gaits and jumping ability) and Impuls (said to be one of the more important breeding stallions of the postwar era), and her damsire is Karneval II. Karneval II was also famous for his beautiful gaits; he had many successful sons and daughters.
Also prominent in her pedigree is Ibikus, whose genetic traits are responsible for the performance capabilities of sport horses all over Europe. He was a four time winner of the German riding horse championship, first at his stallion performance test, and successful in dressage competitions up to the FEI level.
This pretty mare is big-boned and powerful. She unfortunately suffers from EPM, so we will never know how good she really is. Her first son has huge, expansive, floating movement, and we suspect that at one time, Salut did as well.

Molly had a lovely bay filly by Scimitar on April 24, 2006!
Our beautiful Molly comes to us on a lease from Mike & Jean Bitely of WV. She is a 16 year old Thoroughbred mare who has had many gorgeous babies. She is athletic, with a lovely, flat-kneed trot and a nice, even canter. This is a mare with a great mind; she is truly a pleasure to be around.
Molly’s grandsire, Explodent, is known for producing horses with exceptional temperaments, beautiful heads, and plenty of jump. Her lineage is loaded with lines known for stamina and toughness (e.g., Cohoes, Mahmoud, Princequillo) and legends such as Nearco, renowned for his brilliance and class both on and off the track.
Farther back, her pedigree includes names like La Troienne, Belle of Troy and Hyperion. She can even claim as ancestor the great Bay Ronald who, with his son Dark Ronald, had tremendous influence on modern Holsteiner breeding.
Fundamentally, though, what we love about Molly is her inherent kindness. Molly is the one that will greet you at the gate, escort you around the pasture, and follow you as far as you will let her. She is alert and she is intelligent, but she will do whatever you ask of her. We are grateful to her owners for allowing us to get to know this exceptional individual.
